The Freshman football squad beat the Avon Orioles 8–0 in a hard-fought defensive battle, with key performances on both sides of the ball powering the victory. Carter Hackworth was a standout, coming away with two interceptions that shifted momentum and flipped field position. His contributions didn’t stop there—his punting helped pin the opponent deep and gave the defense room to work. Up front, the offensive line paved the way for the ground game, opening lanes that allowed running back Jared Bonds to impose his physical style throughout the afternoon. While the run game wore down the defense, the biggest strike came through the air. Quarterback Drake Carnahan connected with Isaiah Futch on a deep pass for the game’s only touchdown, a play that proved to be the difference on the scoreboard. Bonds tacked on a 2pt conversion run the following play. Defensively, the unit stayed aggressive and disciplined. Outside linebackers Ike Repp and Bryson Goins anchored the edge, consistently disrupting plays and maintaining dominance against both the run and pass. Their presence, combined with Hackworth’s turnovers, kept the opponent off balance and off the board when it mattered most. This win takes our record to 3-3 on the season. Our next game will be at home against Franklin Central. Kickoff time TBD. Go Tigers!
