Fishers Freshman Edge Shamrocks in Overtime Battle The freshman football team won a thriller at Westfield on Saturday, winning 21-20 in overtime. Quarterback Isaiah Futch led the Tigers’ offense with poise and confidence, mixing a strong combination of runs and passes to keep the Shamrocks off balance. Running back Jared Bonds carried the bulk of the ground attack, powering through defenders for tough yards and another impressive performance. Futch proved he was more than just a running threat, throwing two touchdown passes—one to Bonds and another to receiver Zach Tellis. The offensive line turned in one of its best games of the season, paving the way for sustained drives and consistent ball control. Kicker Kael Jacobs was perfect on the day, converting all three PATs. Despite early struggles with penalties that set the Tigers back in the first half, the defense came out flying, holding Westfield scoreless through two quarters. When the Shamrocks responded with a second-half touchdown, returner Phillip Warren provided a huge spark with a massive kick return that put Fishers deep in enemy territory. Linebacker Ike Repp and safety Earl Hughes anchored the defense with physical play and timely stops, keeping the Tigers within reach. A risky fake punt late in regulation nearly shifted the momentum, but the Fishers defense rose to the challenge, forcing a critical stop to send the game into overtime. Futch connected with Tellis for the go-ahead touchdown, and after Westfield quickly answered, the game came down to a 2-point conversion attempt. The Shamrocks tried to power it up the middle, but a swarm of Tigers stuffed the run to seal the victory. With the win, the freshman squad improves to 5-3 overall and 3-3 in conference play. The Tigers will close out the season at home next Saturday, October 18th, with kickoff set for 10 a.m. Go Tigers!
