The Fishers Tigers hosted the Carmel Greyhounds to start the 2025 high school season. The Tigers offense collected over 400 yards of offense, but the Hounds scored on 7 out of their 10 drives to eventually pull away with a 49-24 victory. Ryan Thembulembu ran for 125 yards and 1 touchdown and Gage Sturgill connected with Vincent Rozzi for two touchdown passes for the Tigers. The Tigers took the opening kickoff and put together a 14-play five-minute drive that covered 80 yards. The drive was capped off by a 3-yard run by Ryan Thembulembu. The Greyhounds offense wasted no time putting together their own scoring drive. Quarterback Anthony Coellner had a 47-yard keeper before he found Jacob Bellin in the front corner of the end zone for 24 yards on 4th down. The offensive fireworks continued as Sturgill found Girton for a 59-yard reception to get to the Hounds 5-yard line. However, the Tigers could not convert as Micah Hillen chipped in a 21-yard field goal. Carmel scored on their second possession as Ayden Johnson punched it in from 7-yards out to give the Hounds a 14-10 lead early in the 2nd quarter. Fishers appeared to convert on a huge play as Sturgill found a wide open Rozzi, but the play was called back on a holding penalty. After a Tigers punt, the Hounds again scored a touchdown after a 61-yard pass from Coellner to Shockley. Coellner would finish the drive with a 1-yard dive. Fishers put together a 9-play drive in just under 4 minutes as the clock wound down in the 2nd quarter capped off by a short jump pass over the middle from Sturgill to Rozzi. A quick drive got the Hounds in the end zone again to close out the first half and take a 28-17 lead into the locker room. Carmel came out and flew down the field almost exclusively on the ground as Coellner scored his 3rd touchdown of the night. However, the Tigers answered right back. Sturgill was flushed to his left and threw all the way across the field to find Rozzi who did the rest for a 25-yard touchdown to make the score 35-24 in favor of Carmel. However, the Hounds would put together a 14-play drive that covered 76 yards finished off with another keeper by Coellner. The defense for the Tigers stepped up in the 4th and forced a punt after a big tackle by Jordan Kinder. The Hounds stretched their lead to 49-24 with another touchdown by Johnson. The score would hold as the teams ran out the clock.
