Fishers Loses Despite Outhitting McCutcheon

Fishers Varsity Tigers fell 6-3 to McCutcheon Varsity Mavericks on Saturday despite out-hitting them six to five. Cate Summerfield and Kendall Jordan each collected two hits for Fishers Varsity Tigers. McCutcheon Varsity Mavericks got on the board in the second inning after Kacie Nading homered to center field, scoring two runs. McCutcheon Varsity Mavericks added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Mallorie Beutel doubled to center field, and Molly Davis homered to center field, each scoring two runs. Kaidynn Peckinpaugh earned the win for McCutcheon Varsity Mavericks. The starter gave up six hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking seven. Kate Murray pitched four and two-thirds innings in relief for Fishers Varsity Tigers. The reliever surrendered three hits and one run while, striking out three and walking two. Frankie Jackson took the loss for Fishers Varsity Tigers. The hurler went two and one-third innings, giving up five runs (four earned) on two hits, striking out one and walking two. Kendall Jordan drove the middle of the lineup, leading Fishers Varsity Tigers with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Fishers Varsity Tigers had a strong eye at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game. Azstryd Alexander and Hailey Kinder led the team with two walks each. Brooke Clayton stole two bases.
