JV1 Red baseball defeats Franklin Central 8-4

The Fishers Tigers JV1 Red team (8-11-1/6-8) used a 5-run inning to pull away from the Franklin Central Flashes for an 8-4 victory Thursday night. The Tigers collected 9 hits on the night including a double and a triple. The Tigers scored first with 2 outs as Asher Nelson doubled down the left field line before Carlos Altuve reached on an error allowing Nelson to score. The Tigers offense again worked well with 2 outs as a single from Parker Congdon scored both Andrew Baldini and Ethan Buelt. Starting pitcher Jerry Jaramillo allowed runners early in the game, but was able to escape without allowing any damage. The Flashes got on the board though in the 4th as back-to-back singles drove in runs. Jaramillo struck out the next two to finish the inning. Vinny Pecoraro contributed a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 5th. Fishers continued to find barrels as Buelt had an RBI triple and both Baldini and Congdon has RBI singles. Jaramillo earned his 5th win of the season on the mound as he went 5 innings. He was able to work around 10 hits while only allowing 4 earned runs. Caleb Compton pitched two no-hit scoreless innings in relief.
