The Fishers Tigers JV1 Red team (5-10/4-7) jumped out to an early lead but couldn’t hold on as the Southeastern Royals fought back and won on a walk-off single. After falling behind 3-1 at the end of the 1st, the Tigers answered back with 4 runs in the top of the 2nd and 5 in the top of the 3rd to lead 10-3 midway through the 3rd. Vinny Pecoraro reached on an error that allowed 2 runs to score in the 2nd. Sean Frey contributed an RBI groundout before Ethan Buelt singled to drive in another run. Matthew Smith and Justin Brown both drove in runs in the 3rd for the Tigers. The Royals struck back with 9 runs in the bottom of the 3rd as they pieced together singles and walks to take the lead. Both defenses settled in for the next two innings, but the Tigers would finally break through with 2 more runs to tie up the game in the 6th. Micah Moore delivered an RBI single and Brown contributed a sacrifice fly. The Royals would work two full count walks to start the 7th before a single loaded the bases. Another single brought in the winning run for Southeastern. Alex Ellis took the loss on the mound for the Tigers. Will Engebretson pitched well in relief as he threw 3 shutout innings while allowing only 1 hit and recording 2 strikeouts.
