JV1 Red defeated by Mt Vernon

The Fishers Tigers JV1 Red team (3-6/2-4) fell in an early hole and couldn’t recover in a loss to the Mt Vernon Marauders Tuesday night. The Tigers outhit the Marauders 9-6, but the Fishers pitchers issued nine walks. After giving up 3 runs in the bottom of the 1st, the Tigers answered back with 5 runs of their own. Miles Tebben reached on a bunt single to load the bases with no outs. Vinny Pecoraro and Andrew Baldini both connected on singles to drive in runs. The lead was short lived as Mt Vernon scored 4 runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 7-5 lead after 2 innings. Relief pitcher Donovan Proll worked a solid 3.2 innings to give the Tigers offense a shot late in the game. Collin Bumps battled from a full count to foul off two more pitches before dropping a single right over the third basemen’s head to drive in Carter Davis. Fishers also threatened in the bottom of the 7th but were unable to score. Miles Tebben took the loss on the mound for the Tigers as he went 1.1 innings allowing 7 runs, but only 3 earned.
