Fishers falls to Westfield

The Fishers Tigers hosted the Westfield Shamrocks on a beautiful fall night for the final regular season home game. The Shamrocks racked up yards and points offensively as Fishers could not keep up for most of the night. Ryan Thembulembu finished with 73 yards rushing and threw for a touchdown pass. The Tigers received the opening kickoff of their final regular season home game but were forced to quickly punt. On the first play from scrimmage for Westfield, Deacon King broke through the defense for a 77-yard touchdown to take the early lead. The Shamrocks would add two more touchdowns in the quarter – another by King from 2 yards out and a third as Carsen Melvin found Parker Knotts who twisted and turned his way into the end zone as the clock ran out for the quarter. The 2nd quarter was more of the same as the Shamrocks continued to gain yards. The Tigers defense did step up with two big defensive stops to force long field goals as Westfield took a 25-0 lead into halftime. The Tigers defense came up with a big stop on the 2nd play of the 2nd half as Tristan Johnson intercepted Melvin. On the next play, Ryan Thembulembu took the QB keeper 36 yards for a touchdown to get the Tigers on the board. However, the Shamrocks answered right back as King scored his 3rd touchdown of the night to make the score 32-6 in favor of Westfield. King would score again later in the 3rd to extend the lead further. Thembulembu remained in the game as quarterback due to injuries and found JonAnthony Hall for a 5-yard touchdown early in the 4th quarter. Both teams used subs for most of the late 4th quarter as the Shamrocks added one more score.
