The Fishers Tigers JV team, for the second week in a row, had the opportunity to compete under the lights on a Monday night. With a split of the JV team, the Tigers played the game versus Avon with 27 total players, but they didn’t play like it. The game started off slow with the defense forcing multiple punts in the first half. The offense was able to convert multiple first downs behind Paxton Badua and Hudson Bell running the ball. Unfortunately, the offense was not able to convert any of their drives into points. At the end of the half, the Avon offense was driving the ball but had to punt the ball back to the Tigers with a little over a minute left. Now in hurry up mode, the offense started the drive with a huge reception by Mason Cantwell. After the reception, the Tigers were able to get a couple more first downs running the ball. On a 4th and goal on the six-yard line, with 11 seconds remaining in the half, Donovan Proll rolled right and found Hudson Bell on a tipped ball for the first points of the game. After halftime, the Tigers started with the ball and drove down the field for a Paxton Badua score to make the score 14-0! Avon got the ball back and with a little urgency threw the ball to the flat, but unfortunately for the Orioles, Owen Stout was there to intercept the ball and take it to the house to make the game 21-0! Later in the half, with Avon driving, the Orioles threw the ball to the endzone, but it was picked by Caleb Ferguson for a touchback. The offense was able to drive the length of the field but ultimately came up short. The defense once again stepped up and make the defensive stand to finish the game to give the JV Tigers their 5th win of the season. Next week, the Tigers take on the Franklin Central Flashes at home at 10am. Go Tigers!
