Fishers High School

The remnants of Hurricane Helene forced the Fishers Tigers to wait one more day to travel to Avon to face the Orioles, but the Tigers were ready and came home with a 27-13 victory. Caden Hill pass for almost 200 yards and two touchdowns. JonAnthony Hall had a big day including a rushing, passing, and receiving touchdown. He also set the school record for career yards receiving and career touchdown receptions as he passed J-Shun Harris. Hall now has 2,083 yards receiving and 18 touchdowns for his career. Both defenses dominated through the first quarter as the Orioles punted 3 times and the Tigers punted once to go along with a turnover on downs. Fishers would get on the board on the first play of the 2nd quarter as Caden Hill found Denkota Fletcher for a 36-yard touchdown. But the Orioles answered right back as Ashton Carter broke off a 50-yard run to get into the red zone before Rayvon Martin finished with a 9-yard run to even up the score. The teams again traded punts, but a bad snap for the Orioles gave the Tigers great field position inside the 10-yard line with just under 4 minutes to play in the half. On 4th down, JonAnthony Hall found Jase Ruggles on a 2-yard touchdown pass out of the wildcat formation. The Tigers defense got a sack from Jev Hutton to help stop the Avon drive and force a punt as the clock wound down toward halftime, and Fishers took a 14-7 lead into the locker room. The Tigers came out of the locker room and put together an 8-play 61-yard drive capped off by a 32-yard touchdown pass from Hill to Hall. Three plays later Jev Hutton came up with a big interception to give Fishers the ball right back. However, the Tigers couldn’t capitalize and turned the ball over on downs. The defenses from both sides again stepped up as Fishers also forced their own turnover on downs. Early in the 4th quarter, the Tigers converted on 4th down as Hill found Fletcher to keep the drive going. Hall finished the drive on the ground with a 7-yard run to give him a rushing, receiving, and passing touchdown for the game. Avon would put together a long drive midway through the 4th as Martin found Carton for a 3-yard touchdown. Charlie Harmon blocked the PAT for the Tigers to leave the score at 27-13 in favor of Fishers. After a Tigers punt, the Orioles drove down the field, but Carsen Eloms came up with an interception inside the 10-yard line. Fishers was able to convert a couple first downs and run out the clock to secure the victory.
