Freshman Football defeats Pike

By Rob Seymour | Sep 3, 2024 3:01 PM

The Freshman won a hard battle against the Pike Red Devils, 15-0. The offense got off to a slow start, struggling to establish the run against a physical defense. Receivers Drew Spicer and Kellen Ferguson maintained consistency, bringing in tough catches and fighting for extra yards. Graham Stout put the Tigers on the board early with a field goal, while Ferguson and Keagan Gates added touchdown catches thrown by Kellen Miller. Stout was 0/2 on PATs due to a block and a bad snap. The defense helped secure the win, shutting out a Pike offense looking to strike on big plays. Safety Rocky Duplessis caused a fumble on the opening drive to set the tone for the rest of the game. Duplessis also added an interception to end the first half. Edge rusher Keagan Lett maintained pressure on quarterback. Safety Eli Poisel made the play of the game, intercepting Pike in the redzone and ending their momentum to score. The Freshman will begin conference play at home on Saturday, September 7th against Noblesville. Kickoff will be at 10am. Go Tigers! Offensive MVPs: Kellen Miller, Kellen Ferguson Defensive MVPs: Keagan Lett, Eli Poisel, Rocky Duplessis
