Fishers falls to Brownsburg on Homecoming 2026

By Matt Poisel | Sep 18, 2026 9:23 PM

Fishers fell 49–10 to Brownsburg on Homecoming night, as the Bulldogs’ balanced offense proved too much for the Tigers to contain. Quarterback Roman Wessel threw for 185 yards and a touchdown, but Brownsburg controlled the game from start to finish. Fishers opened the night with a promising drive, converting an early third down and crossing midfield before turning the ball over on downs. Brownsburg immediately capitalized, with Oscar Frye hitting Branden Sharpe on a 43‑yard catch-and-run to make it 7–0. The Tigers responded with a big play of their own — a 62‑yard strike from Wessel to Girton — but the drive stalled and Fishers settled for a 21‑yard field goal. The defense answered with a strong stand, highlighted by a Parker Congdon pass breakup and a fourth‑down tackle from Drew Spicer. However, Brownsburg regained momentum with an interception and another Frye-to-Sharpe touchdown, this time from a yard out. Trailing 14–3, Fishers punted as the first quarter expired. Brownsburg extended the lead early in the second with a Brady Lewis touchdown run. Jayden Bogan’s strong return set up the Tigers’ next score, a 44‑yard touchdown connection from Wessel to Girton that cut the deficit to 21–10. The Bulldogs closed the half with two more touchdowns — a wide‑open Frye pass to Leo McQuillan and a short Lewis run following a pair of third‑down conversions — sending Fishers into the locker room down 35–10. Brownsburg wasted no time after halftime, turning a long return into another short touchdown run. Moments later, an interception returned to the Tigers’ 5‑yard line set up the Bulldogs’ final score, pushing the margin to 49–10. With a running clock in the second half, both teams traded punts, and the score held as Brownsburg secured the 49–10 victory.
