The Fishers Tigers JV1 Red (13–8, 8–7 HCC) dropped a close 2–0 decision to the Brownsburg Bulldogs, despite outhitting their opponent 5–3. The Tigers generated multiple scoring opportunities throughout the game but were unable to capitalize on key moments. Fishers’ best chance came in the top of the second inning when they loaded the bases. Thomas Downey-Underwood and Hayden Dowell each delivered singles, while Eli Poisel drew a walk to fill the bases with one out. However, the Bulldogs escaped the jam with a ground ball double play, keeping the Tigers off the scoreboard. The Tigers threatened again in the third inning, starting with back-to-back walks. Once again, Brownsburg’s defense held firm, recording two flyouts and a strikeout to end the inning and preserve the shutout. Offensively, Hayden Dowell led the way for Fishers with two hits. Cullen Wolf, Kellan Ferguson, and Thomas Downey-Underwood each added a single. On the mound, the Tigers’ pitching staff kept the team within striking distance all night. Cooper Yeakle started and pitched two strong innings, allowing just one hit and one run while striking out three, but he was charged with the loss. Luke Benefiel was outstanding in relief, tossing three hitless shutout innings and striking out three. Eli Poisel closed out the game, allowing one hit and one run while recording two strikeouts.
