The Fishers Tigers Varsity Baseball Team (14-12/8-4) won their 6th game in a row by defeating Lawrence North Wildcats 15-1 in 5 innings. The Tigers used 9 hits, 4 walks, and 4 hit batters to score in all 4 innings that they batted. They scored 3 runs in the 1st, 5 runs in the 2nd, 3 runs in the 3rd, and 4 runs in the 4th. Ethan Buelt led off the bottom of the 1st with a double, his 3rd straight game that he led off the 1st with a double. Owen Lukac was hit by a pitch, and Carter Strole was walked to load the bases. David Pina delivered a 2-run single to right field. Justin Brown followed with an RBI on a fielder’s choice that could have been a hit to right if courtesy runner Carter Davis didn’t have to hold up to make sure the ball fell to the ground. In the 2nd, Henry Cherry led off the inning with an infield single in the 6-hole. Andrew Baldini executed a perfect slash for a single up the middle. Buelt followed with a walk to load the bases. Owen Luakc connected on a 2 RBI single to center to score Cherry and Baldini. Strole hit the very next pitch over the left field fence for a 3-run homer to extend the Tigers lead to 8-0, and the route was on. Strole’s homerun was his 4th of the season. The Tigers continued their scoring efforts over the final 2 innings. Buelt had an RBI sacrifice fly, and Pina had an RBI double in the 3rd. Baldini also scored when the Wildcat catcher threw the ball into left field as he attempted to steal 3rd. In the 4th, 2 runners scored on wild pitches. Baldini added an RBI single, and Parker Congdon picked up an RBI on a groundout. Offensively, Strole and Pina led the team with 3 RBI each. Lukac contributed 2 RBI, and Pina and Baldini both had a 2-hit night. Starting pitcher Owen Lukac (3-3) pitched well in his complete game victory. Lukac struck out 9 of the 15 outs. He did a great job of minimizing damage, as he scattered 7 hits and 1 walk while allowing only 1 earned run. The Tigers travel to Columbus North on Monday for a 6:30pm start.
