Fishers Varsity Tigers's effort to come back from down five runs in the seventh inning came up just short, as they fell 9-7 to Noblesville Varsity Millers on Friday. Fishers Varsity Tigers closed the gap by scoring on a solo home run by Adrianne Cook and a 2 run home run by Anna McGrath. Noblesville Varsity Millers got on the board in the top of the first inning after Haley Schatko doubled, scoring one run, and Maggie Kern homered to center field, scoring two runs. Fishers Varsity Tigers tied the game in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a single by Adrianne Cook, a walk by Frankie Jackson, and a sacrifice fly by Anna McGrath. Noblesville Varsity Millers made the score 8-4 in the top of the sixth after Izzy Zapp singled, scoring one run, Reese Newsom homered to center field, scoring two runs, and Maggie Kern doubled, scoring one run. Fishers Varsity Tigers made the score 9-7 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Adrianne Cook hit a solo home run to center field, and Anna McGrath homered to center field, scoring two runs. Addison Retzinger earned the win for Noblesville Varsity Millers. The pitcher surrendered six hits and seven runs (five earned) over seven innings, striking out nine and walking four. Bella Balbo took the loss for Fishers Varsity Tigers. The reliever went two innings, giving up four runs on four hits, striking out three and walking one. Joni Oliver stepped in the circle first for Fishers Varsity Tigers. The starter gave up eight hits and four runs (three earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one. Anna McGrath provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Fishers Varsity Tigers with three runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day.
