JV1 Red Baseball Complete Sweep with Late-Inning Surge Over Franklin Central
By Matt Poisel | May 14, 2026 9:00 PM
The Fishers Tigers JV1 Red (12–7, 8–6 HCC) erupted for eight unanswered runs across the sixth and seventh innings to pull away from Franklin Central, securing a 12–6 victory and a conference sweep of the Flashes. Franklin Central came out swinging, as the first four hitters reached base and all eventually scored to give the Flashes an early advantage. However, Fishers starting pitcher Cooper Yeakle quickly regrouped. After the opening frame, Yeakle settled in and retired the side in order in both the second and third innings, keeping his team within striking distance. The Tigers answered in the top of the third, plating four runs to even the score. Eli Poisel delivered a clutch single that drove in the first two runs for Fishers. Aaron Einsfeld followed with an RBI single of his own, and Chase LoGreco tied the game with a sacrifice fly. The game remained tight until the Tigers broke through in the sixth inning. LoGreco came up big again, ripping a two-run single to give Fishers the lead. He then created further havoc on the bases—stealing second, advancing to third on an errant throw, and eventually scoring when the defense was slow to recover the ball. That sequence gave Fishers a lead it would not surrender. Fishers added insurance in the seventh inning, scoring five more runs. RBI hits from Thomas Downey-Underwood, Preston Tidwell, and Drake Carnahan highlighted the rally and put the game out of reach. On the mound, Yeakle did not factor into the decision but delivered a solid outing, pitching four innings while allowing seven hits and six runs with three strikeouts. Owen Porter earned the win with two dominant, hitless innings in relief. Poisel closed the door, allowing just one hit while quickly ending any hopes of a Franklin Central comeback.
