Fishers Varsity Tigers outsted Carmel High School Greyhounds Varsity 7-5 on Monday. Fishers Varsity Tigers jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Frankie Jackson singled, scoring two runs, and a steal of home scored one run. Fishers Varsity Tigers added one run in the second after Cate Summerfield singled to center field. Carmel High School Greyhounds Varsity tied the game in the top of the fifth thanks to a ground out by Chloe Junkersfeld, and a single by Winni Owens. A home run to center field by Adrianne Cook gave Fishers Varsity Tigers the lead, 7-4, in the bottom of the fifth. Joni Oliver earned the win for Fishers Varsity Tigers. The right-handed pitcher gave up two hits and three runs (two earned) over one inning, striking out none and walking two. Chelsea Bennett took the loss for Carmel High School Greyhounds Varsity. The hurler went five and one-third innings, giving up seven runs (five earned) on nine hits, striking out four and walking one. Bella Balbo started in the circle for Fishers Varsity Tigers. The right-handed pitcher surrendered six hits and two runs over four innings, striking out one and walking one. CJ Smock collected the save. Adrianne Cook drove the middle of the lineup, leading Fishers Varsity Tigers with three runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Kennedy Shockley, Cate Summerfield, Adrianne Cook, and Frankie Jackson each collected two hits for Fishers Varsity Tigers. Fishers Varsity Tigers turned one double play in the game. Jayden Kleiner went 3-for-4 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Winni Owens collected two hits for Carmel High School Greyhounds Varsity in four at bats. Fishers Varsity Tigers will travel to New Palestine for their next game on Wednesday.
