The Fishers Tigers JV1 Red (8–7, 6–6 HCC) bounced back in dominant fashion Thursday night, erupting for a 21–8 victory over the Avon Orioles in a five-inning run-rule win. The Tigers racked up 12 hits on the night, including four doubles and a triple. Fishers opened the scoring in the 2nd inning when Hayden Dowell reached on an error that brought home Thomas Downey-Underwood. Aaron Einsfeld followed with a sacrifice fly to score Preston Tidwell and give the Tigers an early 2–0 lead. The Tigers’ offense broke things open in the 3rd inning, plating five runs. The rally was highlighted by a Kellen Ferguson double and a triple off the bat of Tidwell. Fishers continued to pour it on in the 4th, erupting for nine more runs to extend the lead to 16–2. Downey-Underwood sparked the inning with a perfectly placed bunt that led to an Avon error, allowing two runs to score. The Tigers added seven more runs in the frame to take full control. After Avon attempted to mount a comeback, Fishers responded with five additional runs in the 5th inning before shutting the door to secure the run-rule victory. Ferguson led the offensive surge with three hits, including two doubles, and drove in four runs. Drake Carnahan added two doubles of his own, while Downey-Underwood and Dowell each contributed two RBIs. On the mound, Cooper Yeakle earned the win with a strong 3.1 innings, striking out eight Orioles. Kellen Miller recorded both of his outs via strikeout while allowing two unearned runs. Eli Poisel closed out the game in dominant fashion, striking out the side to seal the victory.
