Fishers JV2 Silver Tigers (3-9) ran into a tough matchup in Game 2 on Saturday, falling 9-0 to Carmel JV Gold in a game where scoring opportunities were hard to come by. Carmel got on the board early in the bottom of the first, using patience at the plate to push across the first run and take a 1-0 lead. Fishers looked to respond but were unable to string together offense against the opposing pitcher who kept hitters off balance all game long. In the second inning, Fishers had a solid defensive highlight, turning a well-executed double play to get out of a jam and keep the game within reach. However, Carmel added to their lead in the third on a sacrifice fly, making it 2-0 and continuing to apply steady pressure. Koltyn Stewart started on the mound for Fishers and battled through the early innings, working around traffic and limiting damage at times. Despite allowing runs, there were moments when the defense stepped up behind him to prevent bigger innings. The fourth inning proved to be the turning point, as Carmel broke the game open. A combination of hits, walks, and advancing runners led to multiple runs crossing the plate, stretching the lead and putting Fishers in a difficult position. Offensively, Fishers struggled to find rhythm throughout the game. Hard contact was limited, and the team was unable to generate sustained pressure or put together a rally. The opposing pitcher carried a no-hit performance through all seven innings, allowing just one baserunner via walk while controlling the pace of the game. Henry Gonso came on in relief and worked through the later innings, but Carmel continued to capitalize on opportunities to extend their lead. Despite the final score, Fishers continued to compete and showed effort defensively, highlighted by their double play and a few clean innings in the field. It was a challenging game against a strong performance on the mound, and the Tigers will look to regroup and bounce back in their next outing.
