The Fishers Tigers Varsity Baseball Team (7-9/3-3) were matched up in another pitcher’s duel trailing Andrean 2-0 into the top of the 5th inning. However, after a couple of Fishers miscues, Andrean sent 16 batters to the plate and scored 12 runs in the 5th inning to blow out the Tigers 14-1 in 5 innings. The Tigers left bases loaded in the 1st and had runners at 1st and 2nd with no outs in the 2nd, but were unable to push across a run. After getting out of those jams, Andrean took advantage of the momentum swing and put up 2 runs on a 2-out hit in the top of the 3rd. The Tigers would leave bases loaded again in the bottom of the 4th. Once again Andrean took advantage of the adrenaline after working out of another bases loaded jam without allowing a run. After a leadoff single by Andrean in the top of the 5th, starting pitcher Grant Wolf induced what looked like a double play that would clear the bases, but a mishandle of the baseball out of the glove caused the Tigers to only record 1 out and leave a runner at 2nd. And the floodgates opened, as Andrean would have the next 13 batters reach base. Grant Wolf (0-1) had a quality start until the defensive miscues forced him out of the game in the 5th inning. Wolf pitched 4.1 innings, allowed 5 earned runs on 7 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. Offensively, Owen Lukac put the Tigers on the board with an RBI single in the 7th for their only run of the game. David Pina and Isaac Fernandez both contributed a hit. The Tigers return to action on Thursday when they host the Southeastern Royals for the annual Mudsock Game.
