By Matthew Cherry | Apr 25, 2026 10:58 PM
The Fishers Tigers Varsity Baseball Team (7-8/3-3) walked off Twin Lakes Indians to win 2-1 in the bottom of the 8th inning. On the first pitch he saw, Justin Brown delivered the 2-out game winning RBI single to score Ethan Buelt who led off the 8th inning with a single. Starting pitcher Luke Benefiel and Twin Lakes starting pitcher squared off in a good old fashion pitchers’ duel. Benefiel allowed only 1 earned run on 3 hits while striking out 4 and walking 4. Andrew Baldini entered in the 7th inning with the game tied 1-1 and allowed 2 hits in the 7 batters he faced. He helped himself out by picking off a runner at 2nd to end the top of the 8th inning. Baldini (1-0) earned the victory in relief. The Tigers scored their 1st run in the 4th inning. With 2 outs, Sean Frey walked and Connor Hackworth was hit by a pitch. Henry Cherry reached on an infield single, and Frey scored on an error at the end of the play. Offensively, the Tigers had 6 hits, one each from Vincent Pecoraro, Buelt, Parker Congdon, Brown, Hackworth, and Cherry. Next up for the Tigers is the annual Mudsock game at home on Thursday at 6pm against crosstown rival Southeastern Royals.
