The Fishers Tigers Varsity Baseball Team (6-8/3-3) rallied to take an 8-0 lead over the Westfield Shamrocks before allowing 5 runs in the last inning to hold on for an 8-5 victory. The Tigers win secured a split in the HCC Series. The Tigers had a huge lift with Hayden Werner making his first start and appearance in the 2026 season. Werner was brilliant in 2 controlled innings of work, as he continues to build up his pitch count. Werner retired all 6 batters he faced and finished with 3 strikeouts. Offensively, the Tigers road the momentum of Werner’s return, scoring a run in the 2nd, 2 runs both in the 4th and 5th and 3 much needed insurance runs in the 7th. On the night, the Tigers executed 3 bunts (2 from Justin Brown and 1 from Sean Frey), took advantage of several Shamrock miscues, and received an RBI sacrifice fly from Frey. Andrew Baldini had a clutch 2-strike RBI single in the 7th to help extend the lead to 6-0 at the time. The rest of the Tigers runs came from errors, wild pitches, and passed balls. The Tigers received hits from Vincent Pecoraro, Ethan Buelt, Carter Strole, and Baldini Austin Conley (3-0) relieved Werner and was great in his 4 scoreless innings of work. Conley allowed 4 hits, struck out 6, and walked 2. Carter Strole pitched the 7th inning. The Shamrocks scored 5 runs, only 2 earned, but Strole was able to strike out the final batter leaving 2 Shamrock runners on base. The Tigers return to action on Saturday when they play Twin Lakes at 11am and Andrean at 5pm.
