By Matthew Cherry | Apr 23, 2026 1:04 AM

The Fishers JV2 Silver Tigers took control early and never looked back, defeating Westfield Rocks 13-3 on Wednesday behind timely hitting and a big fourth inning. Westfield struck first in the top of the 1st inning, using a series of walks to push across a run and take a 1-0 lead. Fishers answered immediately in the bottom half with an explosive inning. Dawson Gustin led things off with a single, and Nate Birsa followed with a double down the right field line to drive in the tying run. Max Bishton then delivered a triple to center field to bring home another, and the Tigers capitalized on a Westfield error before Zach Dowd added an RBI double. By the end of the inning, Fishers had jumped out to a 4-1 lead. Westfield battled back in the 2nd inning, stringing together hits, walks, and capitalizing on a Fishers error to score two runs and cut the lead to 4-3. However, Eli Engebretson settled in on the mound, stranding additional runners and limiting further damage in the inning. Fishers responded again in the bottom of the 3rd. Reed Grampp reached base and came around to score on a clutch triple to center field by Isaac Repp, extending the lead to 5-3. Later in the inning, Griffin Horoho added a sacrifice fly to bring in another run, giving the Tigers a 6-3 advantage. The game broke open in the 4th inning. Fishers showed great patience at the plate, drawing multiple walks to load the bases. With runners on, Repp delivered the biggest swing of the game, ripping a double that cleared the bases and extended the lead. The Tigers would tack on another run in the inning, putting up five total and stretching the lead to 11-3. Fishers continued to add on in the later innings, staying aggressive at the plate and capitalizing on scoring opportunities to push the final score to 13-3. On the mound, Engebretson earned the win, striking out seven over three innings while working through some early control issues. Frank came on in relief and was dominant, throwing two scoreless innings while striking out four and allowing just two hits to close out the game. Offensively, the Tigers collected 11 hits, with Repp leading the way with a triple, double, and multiple RBIs. Bishton had a day as well, scoring 2 runs with a triple and a double. Dowd and Grampp each added two hits, while the team also showed strong plate discipline with nine walks.
