JV1 Red Baseball Offense Stalls in Loss to Zionsville
By Matt Poisel | Apr 10, 2026 11:00 PM
The Fishers Tigers JV1 Red team (3–1, 2–1 HCC) fell behind early and were unable to generate sustained offense in a 15–0 loss to the Zionsville Eagles. Fishers threatened right away in the bottom of the first inning when Hayden Dowell singled, but the Tigers were unable to bring him around to score. Another opportunity came in the third as Eli Poisel led off the inning with a single and Kellen Miller followed with a walk. However, the rally was cut short by two strikeouts and a groundout, leaving both runners stranded. Despite limited offensive support, Tigers pitching and defense worked to keep the game within reach. Fishers held Zionsville scoreless in both the fifth and sixth innings, but a six run seventh inning by the Eagles put the game out of reach and sealed the final margin. Owen Porter took the loss on the mound, pitching 1.1 innings and allowing five runs. The Tigers utilized five pitchers on the day, with Drake Carnahan leading the way out of the bullpen. Carnahan tossed one inning of no hit baseball and recorded a strikeout, providing a bright spot for Fishers on the mound.
