Fishers Loses Despite Outhitting Castle

Even though Fishers Varsity Tigers collected 10 hits to Castle Knights Varsity's eight, they still fell 7-3 on Friday at 4300 Heckel Rd. Cate Summerfield led Fishers Varsity Tigers with three hits. Fishers Varsity Tigers opened the scoring in the first after Adrianne Cook singled, scoring one run. A double by Liv McNall extended the Fishers Varsity Tigers lead to 2-0 in the top of the second inning. Castle Knights Varsity tied the game in the bottom of the fourth thanks to a double by Lily Greenwell, and a single by Mallory Moore. A single by Frankie Jackson gave Fishers Varsity Tigers the lead, 3-2, in the top of the fifth. Castle Knights Varsity flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the sixth, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 7-3. The biggest blow in the inning was a fielder's choice by Emma Bruggenschmidt that drove in two. Bailey Gravens earned the win for Castle Knights Varsity. The starter gave up 10 hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out 12 and walking one. Joni Oliver took the loss for Fishers Varsity Tigers. The hurler went two innings, surrendering five runs (four earned) on five hits, striking out one and walking two. Frankie Jackson began the game for Fishers Varsity Tigers.
