The Fishers Tigers JV1 Red team (1–0, 0–0 HCC) opened their season with a thrilling 10–9 extra inning victory over the Center Grove Trojans on Opening Night. Cullen Wolf scored the winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 8th to seal the walk off win. Fishers fell behind early but responded in the second inning when Eli Poisel scored on a wild pitch to tie the game. Moments later, Jackson Pinchouck drove in Hayden Dowell with an RBI groundout to give the Tigers a brief 2–1 lead. Center Grove answered and carried a 5–2 advantage into the bottom of the fifth, but back to back doubles from Wolf and Kellan Ferguson trimmed the deficit to 5–3. The Tigers’ offense broke the game open in the sixth, pushing across six runs behind timely hitting and aggressive baserunning. RBI singles from Aaron Einsfeld and Pinchouck tied the score, and with two outs, Fishers added three more runs to surge ahead 9–5. The Trojans, however, rallied with four two out runs in the seventh to force extra innings. In the bottom of the eighth, Wolf worked a walk and immediately stole both second and third. After Center Grove intentionally loaded the bases, a 2–0 pitch skipped to the backstop, allowing Wolf to sprint home and secure the Tigers’ dramatic season-opening win. Fishers used several arms on the mound. Starter Luke Benefiel worked two innings, allowing one run on one hit while striking out four. Cooper Yeakle followed with two strong innings of hitless relief, also recording four strikeouts. Hayden Dowell earned the win with a scoreless eighth inning.
