Fishers High School junior Alex Koo has earned Hoosier Crossroads Conference Boys Swim/Dive Athlete of the Year honors, selected by a vote of HCC swim/dive coaches. Koo capped a standout junior season at the IHSAA State Swim/Dive Meet, winning the 100 Butterfly and finishing second in the 50 Freestyle. As a sophomore, he was a member of the state runner-up 200 Freestyle Relay team. At the conference level, Koo has been equally dominant. He has claimed HCC titles in both the 50 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle in back-to-back seasons — helping lead Fishers to HCC team championships as a sophomore and junior. Head coach Joe Keller highlighted the work behind the results: "Alex has made huge improvements during his junior year. Those improvements have occurred in the pool and weight room due to the level of focus he has brought to training on a daily basis. His effort and attention to detail have been high level. The growth in confidence has been a by-product of the process and afforded him the opportunities he maximized this year."
