The sectional 5 championship opened on a crisp cool November evening. North Central received the opening kickoff and scored within the first minute as the Tigers defensive back fell down and quarterback Liam Thompson was able to find Richard Hamilton for a 51 yard touchdown. Both teams punted before the Tigers recovered a Panthers fumble deep inside their own territory. Fishers attempted a field goal that was blocked by Harrison Ochs and returned 75 yards by Michael Brown for a touchdown.

In the 2nd quarter, the Tigers offense again struggled to consistently sustain drives, but Jack Phillips was able to flip the field a couple times with good punts. However, Thompson found Jordan Bingham and Bingham outran the defense for a 71 yard touchdown. The Tigers defense tried to respond and eventually forced the Panthers into two 3rd downs. However, Thompson again found Hamilton for a 35 yard fade route for the touchdown to extend the halftime score to 28-0 in favor of North Central.

The Tigers received the kickoff for the second half, but couldn’t get going as quarterback Marcus Roux was picked off by Theran Johnson for the Panthers. North Central was able to put together a solid drive before Thompson was able to escape and drive towards the pylon to extend the North Central lead to 35-0. The Tigers offense was able to get across midfield before Harrison Ochs made a diving interception to give the Panthers the ball back.

The Panthers extended their lead as David Smith found the end zone from 20 yards out early in the quarter. The Tigers defense hung tough as Billy Reiter recovered a fumble after a Fishers punt. The offense was able to convert on a 4th down conversion before Roux found Statz for a 22 yard touchdown midway through the quarter. The Panthers were able to run out the clock and win the sectional championship.
