The Silver Lady Tigers took their yellow carriage West, to do battle with the Westfield Shamrocks. After watching the Silver Boys dominate in their games the girls might have gain a little to much confidence. The game started with the Rocks challenging the back line of Olivia Young, Mackenzie Pope, Jacklyn Frey and Navaeh Repp and did not stop until the final whistle. The defense did a great job of keeping the attack manageable. Unfortunately a bad call in the box allowed Westfield to test Maria Okuszki keeper ability. A well placed ball put the Tigers on their heels. Battling back, the wing attack of Emma Gellenbeck and Hannah Moore had their moments but the Rock defense was solid on this night. Taylor Hamilton and Emily Bradenburg took their turn at the 9 spot trying to level the game. Half time seemed to come quick.
After some minor tweaks to placement and discussion about defensive pressure the Tigers eagerly took to the field to See if they could locate a four leaf clover. Avery Wegner worked hard to keep the team organized, while Hannah Geske provided great support and push toward the goal. Ella Voight moved back into her comfortable home in defense and shut down the Trifolium(shamrock) wide attack. Kristen Rummel kept making runs into final third to test the Westfield defense. Ashley Rettig helped to control the midfield and disorganize the Rock attack. Hope of finding our four leaf clover were dashed when a ball deflected off green during a scamble in front of the goal. Jessica Halamka kept her head up and made some great saves. Rachel Fulton came in to pressure the defensive line of Westfield and provide fresh legs on the attack. Dani Joseph was given a special assignment of marking their strike, who was twice her size, but Dani shut her down beautifully. Proud of the effort. Next game Carmel.
