Another great night for soccer, Tiger Nation. The Silver Lady Tigers drove North to defend the streak against the Millers of Noblesville. Players got moved around to some different position which proved to helpful. Quickly in the 1st Kristen Rummel found herself in front of the goal and was able to squeak a ball past the goalie. The Millers fought back and kept Maria Okuszki busy in goal. Mackenzie Pope used her tenacious play to shut down Millers attack. Jaclyn Frey used her speed and skill to deny shots on goal.. Avery Wegner moved back to a 6 position and won the ball back on numerous occasions and distributed the ball to her team. Ella Voight stepped out of the back and moved to a Forward and kept the Millers backline busy containing her. Hannah Moore and Emma Gellenbeck worked hard on the wings to keep the Millers on their toes.
The first half ended with Tigers in a unstable one point lead.
Second half started with Jessica Halamka in goal and she did a fabulous job. Hannah Geske stepped to the 10 position and pushed the ball several times into the final third. Ashley Rettig held her own in the midfield and confused the Miller attack. Dani Joseph again got the assignment of marking the Millers long ball shooter and shut her down completely. Navaeh Repp and Olivia Young kept the wide attack of the Millers in check. Rachel Fulton and Emily Bradenburg were keeping the pressure on the backline and provided scoring opportunities. Taylor Hamilton was able to get to the end line and make the Millers scurry about trying to stop her. Unfortunately, the Millers were able to get a goal when the ball deflected off a Tiger. Next game Tuesday against our cross town rivals, the Royals.
