The Fishers Tigers Varsity Baseball team (12-8/3-5) exploded for 10 runs in the 4th inning on their way to a 15-2 win in 5 innings over rival Southeastern Royals. The Game 3 victory sealed the Mudsock Series win for the Tigers.

The Tigers bats were hot for the entire game scoring 1 run in the 1st, 2 runs in both the 2nd and 3rd, and then 10 runs in the 4th. The Tigers also tied the school record for extra base hits in an inning (5 in the 4th) and extra base hits in a game (8).

Joey Brenczewski led off the game with a triple to the centerfield fence. He scored on Jack Brown’s RBI sacrifice fly. In the 2nd, Jack Braun singled to lead off the inning, stole 2nd, and scored on Gavin Clayton’s RBI single. Clayton scored on Brenczewski’s RBI double to left. Caulin Brown reached on a hit by pitch to lead off the 3rd inning. Dom Oliverio followed with a double to put runners at 2nd and 3rd. JP Preston and Braun would hit back-to-back sacrifice flies to score courtesy runner Matt Bryant and Oliverio.

Up 5-2 in the top of the 4th, Clayton would start the inning with a leadoff double to left. Carson Dunn followed with a double to centerfield, but Clayton could only advance to 3rd as he held up on a potential catch. Brenczewski walked to load the bases, and Jack Brown followed with a 3-run double to left centerfield. Brown advanced to 3rd on the throw home and later scored on a wild pitch. Caulin Brown and Preston would draw walks in front of Braun’s 2-run triple. Braun would also score on a wild pitch. Zach Cox and Clayton worked back-to-back walks before Dunn hit a 3-run homerun to left, his 1st homerun of the season.

Joey Wilmoth (1-2) picked up the win for the Tigers. Wilmoth threw 4 innings, allowed 1 earned run on 4 hits, while striking out 8. Cody Jones pitched the 5th inning, striking out 2.

The Tiges return to action on Monday when they travel to #7 Carmel.
