The Silver Lady Tigers took their first road trip to do battle with the Shamrocks of Westfield. The ladies had a statement to make and see if the “Rocks” were really lucky. The ladies showed improved energy level from the whistle. Maddie Poppe, Anna Williams, Lexie Pritchett and Tessa Pettygrove switched out frequently as wings and kept the Westfield defense scrambling to cover. Brooklyn Ferrell and Taylor Gerardot were a fortress against the Shamrock forwards. Sarah Bennett covered the rectangle with poise. Rylan Christianson and Jaidin Millsaps kept penetrating into attacking range. Maddie Meier was finally able to slip behind the defensive line and put the first past the Westfield goalie. Second half started with ladies cautious of a one point lead. Eliza Uliczny started out in goal to command the team and distribute well to the Tigers. Gia Tumber and Samira Lee shuffled positions in the midfield and did double duty with ease. Olivia Weyer and Audrey McGovern stayed in wide positions to spread Shamrocks out and set up scoring opportunities. At the 16 minute mark Tseganesh Gregg found and open look and made the “Rocks” pay for their defensive break down. Caydence Wood stayed up high and kept the back four busy. The remain time Reagan McMullen, Riley Brinson and Ashley Jackson held their own to deny any Westfield attempts. Alexa Denney ruled the goal posts until the final whistle. Great hustle was the difference. Next game Zionsville August 26th against Zionsville at FHS. Be safe.
