The Fishers Tigers JV Red team (9-6/4-4) defeated the Southeastern Royals by a score of 8-7 to sweep their Mudsock Series. The Tigers collected 12 hits on the day including 5 extra base hits.
For the second game in the row, the Tigers jumped on the board in the 1st inning in the same manner. Curtis Kearschner singled before stealing 2nd and advancing to 3rd on an error by the pitcher. Quinn Seefeldt grounded out to score Kearschner.
The Tigers would add 2 more runs in the top of the 2nd as Jack Backofen led off the inning with a double. Kyle Manship doubled off the wall to score Backofen and then scored himself on Tanner Bindley’s double. The Royals responded with 1 run to try to keep pace. Each team kept fighting to add more throughout the game.
Kearschner tripled for the Tigers before Seefeldt’s doubled scored him in the top of the 3rd. The Tigers would add 2 more runs in both the 6th and 7th inning. Seefeldt finished 3-4 with a double, 2 runs, and 3 RBIs. Manship finished the day 2-3 with 3 RBIs also.
The Tigers pitching staff worked together to keep the Royals off balance. Jack Pyle earned the win on the mound as he pitched the first 2 innings and only allowed 1 run. Luke Landez pitched the next two and also allowed 1 run while striking out 3. Nick Schnaiter took care of innings 5 and 6 while allowing a run and striking out 2. Luke Grubb finished the game on the mound and worked out of a jam to end the game with the typing run at 3rd base.
