The Fishers Tigers JV Red team (7-11/3-6) ran up against a touch pitching performance as they fell to the Columbus North Bulldogs by a score of 5-1. The Bulldog pitcher only allowed 3 hits and 3 walks while recording 7 strikeouts.
The Tigers were not able to mount a consistent offensive effort as they only sent 4 batters to the plate in 6 out of the 7 innings. The Tigers were able to record their only run of the game in the top of the 4th inning. Grant Moritz singled and Matthew Bryant hit a line drive to the left field wall which allowed Moritz to score from first. Joey Brenczewski recorded the only other hit on the night.
Jack Backofen took the loss on the mound, but pitched effectively on the night. Backofen lasted 4 innings and scattered 5 hits and 2 walks which led to 3 runs for the Bulldogs. Jeffrey Simmons and Jack Braun each pitched an inning in relief.
The Tigers host Brownsburg on Wednesday night.
