The Fishers Varsity Boys Basketball team defeated Anderson on Tuesday by a final score of 75-54.
In what could be a potential Sectional #8 matchup in the coming weeks the Tigers made an emphatic statement from the tip using a strong team defensive effort to run out to an early lead taking a 20-13 advantage into the 2nd quarter. Fishers ramped up their defensive pressure even further in the 2nd period capitalizing on numerous Indian errors en route to a 44-23 lead heading into the intermission. After the break, Anderson would make one final run but it would prove to be well too little, too late as the Tigers went wire-to-wire in this one for their 14th win of the year putting them at 14-6 on the season with just 3 games remaining and a chance to eclipse the previous school record 15 wins by the 2012-2013 squad. In what was a total team win, 8 total players scored at least 2 points with Jeffrey Simmons leading the way with 18 points followed by Alex Szilagyi and Josiah Matthews whom both chipped in 15 points apiece.
Fishers is in action again this Friday, February 8 when they host the Pendleton Heights Arabians with tip-off at 7:30 pm.
