The Fishers Tigers met the North Central Panthers in the opening game of the Horseshoe Classic at Lucas Oil Stadium to begin the 2019 season. The Tigers put together a long opening drive but were unable to convert it into any points. After forcing a North Central punt, both teams threw interceptions as Jackson Dunn picked it off for the Tigers. Marcus Roux found Jeffrey Simmons in the corner of the end zone to give the Tigers a 7-0 lead. On the next offensive play for the Panthers, Grant Whetsel intercepted the pass and returned it inside the 10 yard line. The Tigers were ultimately forced to settle for a field goal.

Early in the 2nd quarter, Collin Shelton picked off the Panthers at midfield. The Tigers put together a long drive as Roux found Nick Leath over the middle for a 17 yard touchdown to extend the lead to 17-0 for the Tigers. The Tigers were forced to punt but Whetsel recovered the muffed punt which led to a 48 yard field goal by Jack Phillips. On the ensuing drive, Geoffrey Brown had a pick-6 from 20 yards out to give the Tigers a 26-0 lead going into halftime.

Coming out of halftime, neither team was able to put together any offensive drives as the scored remained 26-0 in favor of the Tigers.

The Panthers did try to put together a couple drives into the 4th quarter but the Tigers defense was up to the task including a second interception on the night by Whetsel.

The Tigers travel to Pike next week to continue the regular season.
