The Fishers Tigers traveled to Zionsville to face the host Eagles in the regular season finale. Both defenses were strong as the first half saw a combined 8 punts and a forced fumble. In the 2nd half, the Eagles would pull away. The Tigers were able to gain over 125 yards on the ground and 161 through the air, but the Eagles were able to rack up over 350 total yards of offense.
Zionsville received the opening kickoff but the Fishers defense forced an early punt. The Tigers put together a promising drive before turning the ball over on downs at the Eagles 25. The teams traded punts before Colin Price broke through the middle for a 65 yard touchdown to get Zionsville on the board first.
Defense was the name of the first half as the teams combined for 8 punts. TJ Newnum also recovered a fumble for the Eagles, but the Tigers defense was able to step up and force a punt which pinned the Tigers inside their own 5. After a short punt by the Tigers, Josh Stone eventually found Luke Baumgartner for a 7 yard touchdown to push the Eagles lead to 14 point halftime lead.
The Eagles offense stayed hot throughout the 2nd half and eventually pulled away from Fishers. Early in the 3rd quarter, Price again found the end zone for Zionsville before Stone connected with Trey Firestone to make the score 28-0 in favor of the Eagles. The Tigers finally got on the board when Lucas Prewitt found Landon Morris who was able to outrun the defense for a 39 yard touchdown.
Zionsville would put 10 more points on the board in the 4th with another Stone to Baumgartner touchdown and an AJ Vinatieri 19 yard field goal.
The Tigers have a week off before hosting the Southeastern Royals in the first round of sectionals.
