Fishers Varsity volleyball team moves to 4-0 with a sweep of Bishop Chatard: 25-12, 25-16, 25-13. It was a full team effort with Head Coach Steven Peek using three different lineups.
“The success of our season depends upon our ability to win as a team. Even one weak link will create an opportunity for our opponents,” Peek said. “Our opponents are too good for that. Everyone has to be ready to use their strengths to help the team.”
Ten different players scored points for the Tigers, led by senior Jada Allen’s 13 kills. Three other seniors added to the point scoring: Camryn Haworth had six kills and five aces, Emily Waldrop had eight kills and one ace, and Mikayla Christiansen had four kills.
A pair of sophomore middles did well to keep the Trojan defense on their toes. JaNyah Henderson had six kills on eight swings, and Ava Vickers had three kills on six.
Junior Samantha Perdue protected the Tigers’ court with 15 digs. Other notable back row performances came from junior Carsen Plew (seven digs), senior Olivia Lux (five digs), and sophomore Margo Hernandez (five digs).
Fishers’ next match will be next Thursday, September 3rd, when they travel to Noblesville to begin HCC play.
