The Fishers JV Boys Basketball team beat visiting Columbus East in OT on Saturday night by a final score of 60-57. The Tigers started the game strong running out to an early 6 point lead midway through the 1st quarter but that was as much of an advantage as they would get for the remainder of the game as the Olympian’s reeked havoc with their extended half-court zone allowing them to keep the score close throughout. Fishers took a 23-19 lead into halftime before Columbus East fought back to take a short lead going into the 4th quarter up 37-36. In the 4th, the Tigers would again take the lead but holding a 2 point advantage at 53-51 with just 20 seconds remains they were unable to secure a rebound off the Olympian’s miss shot allowing them to tie the score as regulation ended. In OT, Fishers would find themselves tied yet again with just under 30 seconds to play and Isaac Bowman would come through scoring on a drive to the basket as he was fouled then converting the free-throw to put the Tigers ahead 60-57 and this one for good as they did not allow Columbus East score again. Fishers was led by Charlie Smith with 19 points and 5 rebounds, Isaac Bowman with 12 points, and Drew Turner with 11 points respectively. The win moved the Tigers to 6-3 on the season as they head into Christmas break.
