The Fishers JV Boys Basketball team lost a tough one this past Friday at Pike by a final score of 46-43. This was a classic barn burner with both teams never allowing the other more than a 4-5 point lead throughout as the game went back and forth until the final seconds. The Tigers knew nothing would come easy against the host Red Devils but they kept their composure as the game became physical early with both teams aggressively attacking the basket although they each struggled to score as Fishers took a slight 11-10 lead into the 2nd quarter. The two teams would again trade baskets throughout the 2nd quarter neither one able to gain on the other as the score was knotted up at 17-17 all going into the intermission. In the 2nd half, it was more of the same with each team continuously responding to the other as the score remained locked at 32-32 heading into the final quarter of play but it would be Pike who made the crucial plays down the home stretch as Fishers was unable to overcome their shooting woes hitting just 3 field goals total in the 4th quarter. Leading the attack for the Tigers was Charlie Smith with 10 points and 5 rebounds and Max Wuensch chipped in 9 points respectively. The loss moves Fishers record to 7-5 on the season with just 10 games remaining.
The Tigers are back in action Tuesday, January 8 when they travel to Indianapolis Arsenal Tech with tip-off at 6:00 pm.
