The Fishers JV Boys Basketball team lost another heartbreaker last Friday to HCC Conference foe Avon by a final score of 57-55. The Tigers got off to a quick start taking an early 10-6 advantage midway through the 1st quarter before the Orioles fought back to take the lead as the period came to an end at 19-17. In the 2nd quarter both teams wouldn’t find much breathing room as the lead changed hands 4 times in the period but Fishers would find themselves down 2 heading into the half at 32-30. The 3rd quarter was much of the same with neither team able to push the lead any further than 4 points and it was all knotted up at 47-47 going into the 4th quarter. Fishers played a tough final 6 minutes but were unfortunately unable to capitalize down the stretch despite getting 2 attempts to tie or win the game in the last 35 seconds pushing the Tigers record to 8-7 on the season and 1-3 in HCC Conference play. Leading the way for Fishers was Max Wuensch with 18 points off the bench followed by Bryce Williams with 13 points and 4 assists.
The Tigers are back in action next Saturday, January 26 when they host HCC Conference newcomer Franklin Central with tip-off at 6:00 pm
