The Fishers JV Boys Basketball team ended their HCC Conference season with a win beating visiting Zionsville by a final score of 39-35.
In what was arguably their best overall team performance of the season the Tigers outlasted the visiting Eagles last Friday night in the evening’s opening game to end their HCC Conference play on a high note. Zionsville ran out to an early lead in the 1st quarter before the home team got hot beyond the arc hitting all 4 of their 3-point attempts in the 2nd quarter knotting the game up at 22-22 going into the break. Coming out of halftime, the Tigers were able to sustain their momentum once again holding the Eagles to under 10 points in the 3rd quarter taking a 33-28 advantage into the final quarter of play. In the 4th, the Eagles would make one last run but it would prove to be too little too late as Fishers ultimately hung on for their season-best 4th straight win putting them 5 games above .500 for the first time all year at 13-8 with just 1 game to go on the season. Leading the way was the Freshman duo of Bryce Williams with 13 points and 4 assists and Charlie Smith with 11 points and 4 rebounds with 6 other Tigers adding at least 1 point to round out the attack.
Fishers winds up their regular season this Wednesday, February 20 when they head north to take on the Kokomo Wildcats with tip-off at 6:00 pm.
