The Fishers JV Boys Basketball team defeated Franklin Central by a final score of 55-53 to take 3rd place in the North Central JV Tournament over the Christmas break. The Tigers once again found themselves having to play from behind as the Flashes hit a barrage of 3’s en route to a 21-17 lead after the 1st quarter but their lead would not last long as Fishers clawed back in the 2nd period to take a 29-28 advantage into the half. The Tigers carried that momentum over into the 2nd half as they extended their lead to 47-34 by the end of the 3rd quarter and they wouldn’t trail again although they did take their foot off the gas which allowed Franklin Central to make things rather interesting down the stretch but Fisher’s would make one last stop in the waining seconds to secure a the win moving them to 7-4 on the season. The Tigers were again led by Freshman Keefer Soehngen with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Bryce Williams added 15 points as well.
Fishers is in action next on Friday, December 4 when they travel to Pike to take on the Red Devils at 6:00 pm.
