The Fishers JV Boys Basketball team beat host Lafayette Jefferson this past Thursday, December 20 by a final score of 53-43. The Tigers jumped on the Broncos from the tip running out to an early 16-8 lead after the 1st quarter of play on the backs of great defensive pressure frustrating the hosts into 5 turnovers on the quarter. In the 2nd quarter, recently prmoted Freshman Bryce Williams came off the bench and made an immediate and significant impact scoring 10 points in the quarter also adding 2 assists which allowed Fishers to keep the home team from cutting any further into their lead as they went into halftime up just 29-21. In the 3rd quarter, the Tigers pushed their lead by forcing the Broncos into 4 unforced errors in which they capitalized at the other end taking a 42-30 advantage into the final quarter of play. Lafayette Jeff would make one last run in the 4th quarter but it wouldn’t be enough to overcome the Tigers closed out their 5th win of the season to move their record to 5-3 overall. Leading the attack was Bryce Williams with 18 points and 3 assists, Keefer Soehngen with 10 points, and Max Wuensch with 10 points respectively.
The Tigers are in action again on Saturday, December 22 when they host Columbus East with tip-off at 6:00 pm.
