The Tigers got off to a fast start as the defense forced a quick 3 and out and the offense drove down the field capped off with a 7 yard pass from Marcus Roux to Reggie Cook-Graham. The defense again forced a punt and the offense drove 87 yards including a big 54 yard pass to Cook-Graham. Roux found Jeffrey Simmons in the corner of the end zone to give the Tigers a 13-0 lead.
The Red Devils answered early in the 2nd quarter as Zach Smith connected on a 42 yard field goal. Fishers put together another good drive and got to the Pike 10 yard line before ultimately being derailed by a combination of bad snaps and penalties. After a Tigers punt, Collin Shelton picked off the first pass of the Red Devils possession to put Fishers back in business. Roux completed his third touchdown of the night as he connected with Caleb Gates from 17 yards out. Pike was able to get back on the back with a 44 yard field as the clock expired to give the Tigers a 20-6 halftime lead.
Fishers put together two long drives in the 3rd quarter as Jack Phillips connected on 32 yard field goal. Pike put together a long drive that ended the 3rd quarter but scored on an early touchdown to start the 4th quarter to trim the margin to a Fishers 23-13 lead. After the Red Devils recovered an onside kick, the Tigers defense stepped up with two sacks to eventually give the ball back to the Fishers offense with 9 minutes to go remaining in the game. After a long drive, Phillips connected on a field goal with 3 minutes to go in the game to extend the Tigers lead to 26-13. The Tigers defense took the ball away on a turnover on downs and Fishers was able to run out the clock.
The Tigers travel to Noblesville to open HCC play next Friday night.
