The Tigers Varsity Boys Basketball team was in action last night to face the Franklin Central Flashes. In the 1st quarter, the Tigers picked up where they left off from the night before. The Tigers led 13-9 in the quarter. In the 2nd quarter, the Tigers expanded their lead and went into halftime with control of the game. FHS was ahead at the half 26-18. In the 3rd quarter, Franklin Central made their adjustments and fought their way back into the game. Franklin Central cut the Tigers lead to six points. The Tigers were still in control at the end of the 3rd quarter with the lead 34-28. In the 4th quarter, the Flashes continued to battle their way back into the game and tied the score 48-48 at the end of regulation. In overtime, both teams battled back and forth to take control of the game. With the Tigers down two points, FHS Terry Hicks knocked down a late 3-point shot to seal the victory for the Tigers. The Tigers beat Franklin Central with a final score of 59-58. Josiah Matthews led the Tigers in scoring with 14 points. Willie Jackson had 11 points and 4 rebounds. Terry Hicks chipped in with 9 points and 8 rebounds. Alex Szilagyi added 8 points and 3 rebounds. Jeremy Szilagyi had 6 points. The Tigers are now 10-9 on the season and 2-3 in conference play. The Tigers are back in action on the road to face conference opponent the Zionsville Eagles on February 16th with a 7:30 pm tip-off.
