The Fishers JV Boys Basketball team lost to Hamilton County and HCC foe Hamilton Southeastern last Friday, December 15 by a final score of 54-39. The visiting Royals started the game hot running out to a quick 9-0 lead and kept the home team for nearly the entire 1st quarter taking a 9-3 advantage into the 2nd quarter of play. The Tigers made a slight run in the early going of the 2nd quarter but HSE responded with another run of their own stretching their lead to 24-10 going into the intermission. Fishers fought back in the second half making the necessary adjustments and upping their defensive pressure forcing the Royals into 6 turnovers in the first few minutes of the 3rd quarter but it wasn’t quite enough to fully turn the tide as they were yet again plagued from the FT line hitting just 5 of 13 attempts through the first 3 quarters of play helping HSE take a 35-26 lead into the 4th. In the 4th quarter, the Tigers relentless defensive pressure further frustrated the Royals cutting their lead to just 4 points with 2:41 to play but that’s as close as they would as the visitors finished the game on an 11-0 run sending Fishers to 4-3 on the season and 1-1 in HCC Conference play. Leading the way for the Tigers was Isaac Bowman with 13 points and 5 rebounds, Charlie Smith with 10 points, and Max Wuensch chipped in 8 points respectively.
The Tigers make the trip north this week to Lafayette Jefferson on Thursday, December 22 with tip-off at 6:00 pm.
