The Fishers JV Silver (8-6-1/3-3-1) swept their doubleheader against New Palestine after winning game 2.
Fishers carried their momentum from game 1 into game 2 scoring 3 runs in the 1st inning. Collin McPeek and Kyle Jankowski each singled with Cody Thomas drawing a walk to load the bases. Curtis Kearschner sliced a single to right field and with the help of a throwing error trying to catch Cody Thomas running to 3rd base, the bases would clear moving the score to 3-0.
After New Palestine scored in their half of the first the Tigers added one more run in the 2nd inning. Dylan Rapp drew a walk. He then stole second base and was plated on a Thomas double.
The score would remain 4-1 until the 4th inning when Fishers would add their final 4 runs of the game. McPeek and Thomas each singled. With 2 runners on Joe Hietpas would crush his 2nd triple of the doubleheader, this time down the left field line, scoring both base runners. Hietpas went on to score off of a Kearschner single. Rapp also scored in the inning after reaching on a single.
The Dragons attempted comeback was short lived after scoring 2 runs in the 6th inning.
Tom Winegardner toed the rubber for Fishers. He surrendered 3 runs on 4 hits over 6 innings, striking out 5. Jankowski pitched 1 inning in relief and struck out 3.
The Tigers jump back into conference play this Wednesday, 5/15/19, against Brownsburg at 6 pm.
