Boys Varsity Volleyball · Varsity Boys Volleyball are State Finalist

In its fourth season as a club sport, the varsity boys volleyball team have won a Regional Championship two years in a row. The 8 remaining state finalists face off in the state tournament championship this weekend at Southport High School.
There are two quarterfinal matches tonight at 6pm, Cathedral vs Brebeuf and Carmel vs Noblesville. Then two more matches at 8pm; Chesterton vs Brownsburg and Fishers vs Roncalli. Winners advance to the semi-finals Saturday morning at 11am, followed by the All-State match, then the State Championship will be played at 3:30pm. Congratulations to Mario Capo and Parker Beale for making the All-State team.
Between the All-State match and the championship, IBVCA will honor academic excellence by awarding all the junior and senior Academic All-State recipients. We congratulate the following Tigers for earning this great honor.
Junior Academic All-State: Brian Conaway, Jordan Guler, Logan Krehbiel and Luke Moritz.
Senior Academic All-State: Christian Ibrahim and Alex Williams.
For tonight’s match, the Tigers offense will be led by outside hitters Mario Capo and Parker Beale. They lead the state in total kills at 390 and 369 respectively. Orchestrating the offense will be setter junior Jordan Guler, leading the state in total assists with 765. Leading the defense will be Logan Krehbiel and Luke Moritz who have recorded a total of 71 and 53 blocks respectively. Also, freshman Franky Capo and senior Christian Ibrahim will be key on defense. They have recorded 483 (leading the state) and 166 digs respectively.
Other contributors are seniors Alex Williams and Ethan Fairfield. Juniors Arie De Witt, Brian Conaway and Joey Cerone. Sophomores Luke Moritz and Parker Zastrow. Freshmen Aaron Hernandez and Max Hoffman.
