The #3 Fishers Tigers Varsity Baseball team (24-5/15-3) dropped the season finale at Zionsville 7-2. The Tigers found themselves in a 7-0 hole, as the Eagles scored 1 in the 1st, 4 in the 2nd, and 2 in the 3rd. The Tigers first hit came in the 4th inning, as the offense could only muster 4 hits and 2 late runs.
Jon Vore (3-1) suffered the loss on the mound. Vore allowed 4 runs on 5 hits in 1.2 innings. Evan Patrick pitched 0.1 innings in relief and allowed 3 runs on 5 hits. Luke Albright was able to stop the Eagles, as he allowed 0 runs on 2 hits in 4 innings of relief. Albright struck out 4.
Kiel Brenczewski delivered a 2-run single in the 6th inning for the Tigers only runs. Caleb Brenczewski, Brendan Toungate, and Trevor Newman each had a hit.
The Tigers finished their regular season with a 24-5 overall record, the best in school history. The Tigers were HCC Champions finishing conference play with a 15-3 record.
Sectional play begins across the state this week. The Tigers are in the Bye of the Westfield Sectional vs. the host Westfield Shamrocks on Monday May 29th at 12:30pm.
